That’s certainly an interesting idea **Tir** 🙂 But I have a feeling that most Dopers will start to suffer alcohol poisoning fairly quickly if we were to do that. 😉 Mind you, I’m coming down to London on the 25th June for a 1 day meeting, anyone fancy meeting up after that for a pint or few? ---

I can’t do early September either, for the same reason I can’t do the 30th/31st. Since it’s still early we can wait for **Dex** to confirm; at the moment I’m leaning towards the bank holiday weekend (on the basis of **Tir** ’s numbers) but will not be offended if it ultimately works out better for a weekend when I can’t attend. Miffed, yes, but not offended. 😉 ---

Right. Let’s set the event at **August 23rd** at the **Silver Cross** on Whitehall. If everyone’s plans change closer to August and this becomes unworkable, we’ll worry about it then. I depute to **garius** the task of sampling all beers on offer at the Silver Cross and reporting back. Whether or not you sample them all in the same visit or not is up to you, **g**. ---

…don’t forget the otters, Francesca (almost as good as the meerkats!). If in spite of the bank holiday you do decide to head to the zoo, the Crusoe and pinga pad is about 10 mins walk away, so we could pop down and say hello. ---

Yes. Otters. Also hippos. They didn’t have any normal-sized hippos last time I went, only pygmy hippos. I liked them. Fran-sized hippos. ---

I can’t be there on the 23rd because I’ll be lecturing in Australia. I think you’re all horrid, horrid, horried for choosing this date and I intend to sulk very bitterly about this deliberate ploy to exclude me. Apart from that, have a good one guys, and take lots of pix so I can enjoy it vicariously 'pon my return from a land Down Under. (Thinks… that might make a good title for a catchy pop song… ) ---
