**Steve Wright** You seemed very puzzled at my referance to suicide booths and Zombies, even when I mentioned it was from a SF novel. I did a search and found it was called ‘Immortality Inc’(formerly Immortality Delivered and serialised as ‘Time Killers’). It’s worth a look, it won a few awards in the '50’s. ---

It was an absolute pleasure to see you all again and to meet some new faces. Here’s to the next one! Due to my [fashionably ;)] late appearance I didn’t get chance to speak to everyone as much as I would have liked but **Fran** , a pleasure as always (and good luck with the running!); **Alex** , Arrrggg, matey; **Anahita** (who looked fabulous BTW), it was great to catch up with you again, I’ll see you at Londope IV I hope; our fearless leader and team captain **curly chick** , it was lovely to meet you, you kick ass. Thanks must also go to **Tansu** for listening to me rant about Liverpool and G.Houllier and to **confessorknight** for his knowledge of horror movies! **Steve** , 56 hemispheres, I’m impressed and glad you didn’t choose that category. 🙂 Speaking of which, cheers to **jr8** for the fantastic quiz. **kferr** , **hibernicus** , **SciFi Sam** , **kabbes** , **garius** , **casdave** , **brainfizz** and **the three or four other people I spoke to but can’t remember the username of** (sorry), I didn’t get to speak to you all as much as I would have liked so you’ll have to make it to the next one! ---

Ah, _Immortality Inc_, aka “Frightfully famous Robert Sheckley novel that I haven’t yet got round to reading” … Well, I suppose it’s useful to show people I’m not _completely_ infallible. **Anahita** , worry not, absolutely none of my small stock of photographs is suitable for blackmail purposes. (And I agree with **ObiWan** concerning your overall fabulousness … fabolity? Fabulolity? Whatever, you look great.) ---

Howdy All, I have to confess that I was initially undecided about whether or not to come, but I’m glad that I did! I got there quite late (about eightish) due the the fact that I drove and had to find a parking space in Central London on a Saturday night (well, duh!). After finally figuring out where the pub was, I swallowed nervously and shouldered my way into the unknown… Three and a half hours later, I’d made a bunch of new friends, learned a whole lot about literature (the hard way!), and made up my mind to definitely come along to the next one! Thanks to all for making a newbie feel so welcome - you’re a lovely bunch of people. Special thanks to **Curly chick** , **Francesca** , **Kferr** , **Anahita** , **Garius** , **Steve Wright** and **Scifi Sam**. And the less said about the Powerpuff Girls, the better… Bib ---

> [@](#): > > \*Originally posted by Gyrate \* > \*\* , you were all remarkably accommodating about the few suspect questions, for which I am grateful (and I’m left with the task of skimming through the Complete Works of William Shakespeare looking for scenes set in London. Or maybe I’ll just post the question in GQ or Cafe Society). > \*\* Well since you brought it up,[this site](http://search.eb.com/shakespeare/plays_settings.htmlhttp://search.eb.com/shakespeare/plays_settings.html) may save you some time 😉 That aside, thanks for a brilliant quiz. A rematch will be required ! BTW your comment: ‘“chatter chatter (or whatever) MONKEY!” does \*not \*appear in Handel’s Messiah’ is still making me smile 🙂 ---

So, raise your hand if you will now come over to a DublinDope now that I’ve come from both continental Yurp (from Paris) and way out west (from Galway, Ireland) to a Londope. When are you going to get your fannies here so I don’t have to take plane, train, automobile and bus to see you?? Huh? [sub]Yes, I said fanny, TWICE![/sub] ---

T’was a good night - the quiz was excellent although i can’t believe that we managed to get all those bloody literature questions when we didn’t have a single penguin classics reader on the table  Despite that i still can’t figure how we lost! 🙂 **Gyrate** my good man, apologies for suggesting that before scoring this quiz you were responsible for counting the votes in Florida 😉 And i wouldn’t be adverse to a trip to the emerald isle - but it would depend on when. ---

Hang on a minute, while I am all in favour of having a visiting team come over here and fete **Anahita** , for her transcontinental DopeTrotting, whenever you all care to mention, what I want to know is: Where are the LonDope photos?? These alleged photos have been talked about in this very thread by **qts** and **Steve Wright** and I distinctly remember seeing **casdave** with a camera. Surely there must be one or two postable pix? ---

October is no good for me. In fact, this fall is pretty much right out. I’m starting a new job so unless you can arrange to come over the same weekends I have to go to Dublin for work, we’ll have to wait until early December or January. Maybe by then we’ll **have some photographs!!!** ---
