I love ‘All Anal Sex Week,’ though it’s really a misnomer since most women’s periods are accompanied by, er, stomach troubles. I usually just make jokes about an evil fetus clawing its way out of my uterus. ---

Years ago I did a similar thread. One of my favs from that was “Jumping off the roof”. A nice coded way for the women to speak and the boys had no idea what they were talking about. ---

When I was in college, one of the girls in the dorm used the euphemism “summoning Dracula” when she was on her period. I thought this was hilarious, and I’ve never heard it elsewhere, so I assume that it was an original turn of phrase. ---

I found “falling off the roof” on a blog a few months ago. There are many, many euphemisms for menstruation at [this link](http://www.mum.org/words.html) at the Museum of Menstruation. ---

My mother once used the phrase, “Aunt Martha fell off the roof.” This confused me no end as I have no Aunt Martha. Also, about that time, my grandfathers cousins and other relations were all dropping like flies so I thought it was a reference to one of them. Why some way distant relative of mine’s death or serious wounding was relevant to why mom didn’t want to come swimming was a complete mystery to me. ---
