# Austin Dopefest!

I am calling a dopefest for Labor Day weekend. MaxTorque will be here, and I need help entertaining him!
Any suggestions? I enjoyed the meal at Shady Grove and the Filling Station- maybe we could do that again? The weather should have cooled down _some_ (which is to say it will be 96 intead of 100) so maybe we could hang around outside somewhere. A frisbee game, perhaps?
What day that weekend would be best for you guys? I am thinking Saturday, since Max has a long drive between here and Lubbock. But I am sure we could work something out so that as many people as possible can make it.

I’ll be there.
The Shady grove seems to be the default Austin doper meeting place. We could also go for the Chuy’s close by, or I’m sure there are several other good places.
Saturday will probably be best for me, but since I’ve got that Monday off, Sunday would work too.
Congress Street bridge in in walking distance from there, and we might be able to watch the bats. Just an idea for the outdoorsy side.

Max and I had talked about the bats- that would be a good outdoors thing to do since it will not be as hot at dusk.

Okay, why the heck do these things always seem to get planned on the rare weekends **Microbug** and I are going to be out of town? We’ve got the **Lightnin’** clan annual reunion that weekend. Of course, I’d like nothing better than to give THAT a miss, but they’d take offense if they didn’t get a chance to see **KidLightnin’**. Of course, they wouldn’t even notice if I wasn’t there…

A chance to see **Ayesha** and **LionSOB** and **Beatle** again, and meet **MsRobyn** and the rest of the people I’ve never met. And watch the bats. This is tempting. It’d have to be Saturday evening for me to have a chance.
