I live with a friend here in Vegas and she has two kids, Jade and Aryah, who are very nice and fine kids. Except. Between the two of them they watch Austin Powers: Goldmember at LEAST once a day. Again And again And AGAIN. If it’s not that movie, it’s Shrek. Again And again And AGAIN. Fortunately they ARE my movies, so I think they’ll ‘disappear’ for a while. As it stands now my sanity is hanging by a thread and it’s seriously endangering my mac and cheese making capabilities, and we don’t want that, do we? Sanscour ---

oh crud! I’m trying to combine Austin and Shrek speak and am coming up blank. Shag-a-dylic… oh rats! what does Shrek say? I see the little ears, and the strong jaw and the general ogre-ness, but what does Shrek say??? arg. never mind. ---

Well I talked to the mother and she doesn’t mind at all if the movies disappear for a bit, but I doubt the kids will mind :0 The problem with Goldmember is that, unlike many other movies I watch, I can’t tune most of it out if I don’t care to watch it. Other movies I own and watch and enjoy, like The Two Towers, The Thing, LoTR, I can ignore, or at the least cannot ignore only when the really good parts come around. With Goldmember the music, Mike Myer’s voice…I just can’t get it out of my head. Shrek isn’t too bad…but I’d just not see movies I really like turn into movies I hate because kids have an attention span as long as it takes a ferrari to go from 0 to 60 and can watch them repeatedly. Speaking of movies, methinks it’s time to watch The Thing. See ya. Sanscour ---

Ah yes, **Horseflesh** , I can see it now. _MacReady sees Shrek and Donkey walk into the Artic_ First goddamned week of winter… Alas, I didn’t watch it, I was too busy using the Darth Maul Boomstick of Justice ™ in the Jedi Academy demo. Yeah… Austin Powers was an okay movie (which my friends and I watched at almost every party we threw for about a year, for some reason). The second was stupid, but you could overlook that the first time or two - unless Fat Bastard was on the screen, when every single joke sucked - and it was funny until you noticed it was paralyzingly stupid that third time. The third one was just awful. If dollars were laughs, I doubt the movie earned its $8.50. Funny beginning, and then it went downhill so fast it should’ve gotten a speeding ticket. 😛 Shrek was the same - some funny moments, but not at all a great movie. If movie critics were under the age of 13, though, it would have swept the Oscars for some reason. At present, I hate the movie based solely on the fact that it gave Smashmouth another hit with that lame cover song at the end. 😛 ---

You have to admit, the reference to the Subway diet and Jared at the end with Fat Bastard was rather funny. “Of course, my neck -does- look like a… blah blah.” Okay, so maybe it wasn’t that funny. Bleh. ---

BAH! 🙂 Not to mention I moved less than a year ago from Vermont to Vegas, and when you’ve seen better than a quarter century of snow, and buttloads of it at times, I don’t care if it’s the artic, antartic, or my parent’s front yard, it just looks FREAKIN COLD!! Plus as far as the super geeky memory retention goes, it’s mostly great quotes, dialogue and scenic stuff. Artic or ANTartic don’t necessarily register. For example, at one point I had almost all of Ferris Bueller memorized but i couldn’t tell you what High School they went to 😛 I think you just correct me cause you’re one of THEM!
