Well, the most obvious is John Sanford. He is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. He wrote for The Miami Herald in the 1970’s and the The Saint Paul Pioneer Press in the 80’s.
His thrillers (“Prey” series) features the character Lucas Davenport. There is currently 29 books in the Prey series.
