# AV Club and related sites

The AV Club website seems to have changed recently. Previously the top of the page included links to sister sites like Gizmodo, Jalopnik, the Onion, the Root and the Takeout. I would start out reading the AV Club and then jump around the other sites. Now, those links are gone and the Takeout still seems to exist but isn’t under the same ownership. So anyone know what happened?

As do media ‘investors’ who buy up successful online media companies under the thesis that they can somehow make a billion dollars by firing all of the personalities that made the site popular and replacing them with freelancers and auto-generated “10 Best” lists, e.g. what E.W. Scripps and Literally Media did to [Cracked.com](http://Cracked.com).

Stranger
