Noooo, don’t give up. Go to [picresize.com](http://picresize.com). They have a custom resize available. You just type in 50×50 and it automatically does it. It’s easy. ---

I use a free program called Irfanview to open picture files. There is an option there in the edit menu to resize an image. Then just save or “save as” with a new name. It’s really easy. ---

I grabbed a free mobile app called image size. I opened the photo. There were two boxes above it for height and width. I typed 50 into both of them and saved it, it couldn’t have been easier, ---

I would hope that fellow poster **blob** would do the right thing and not depict the venerable blobfish out of its natural habitat. Which is in water, not out of it. I like using my image editing skills and Wikipedia has a bug that makes it hard to work on any images there. So PM me if you have trouble with any image, and I’ll get you up and running. ---

Proper photos probably won’t reduce well. As for resizing, I have programs on my computer to do it, they just have an “upper limit”. The file I tried to upload fell within the required size. I’ll just have to think about it some more to think something else up, or do a drawing myself. There’s no rush. It’s all good. Thanks for the suggestions. ---

There are a lot of blobs that turn up on a Google image search for “blob”. If you find one you like I can scale it down to 50x50 and make it a transparent PNG if that’s suitable. [Here](http://mariafresa.net/single/2266373.html) for instance, is a lovely blob that is already transparent and just needs to be reduced! ---
