I can see why allowing people who wanted them to have and see avatars would be so upsetting for you, given that it would have such a significant impact on your posting experience. I get just as angry when I find out cable channels I don’t get are showing shows I don’t like. ---

I support the use of avatars and recommend they be implmented immediately, simply because they will infuriate the people who are so “worked up” about it. ---

I avoid this problem by wearing a blindfold in the store and identifying items by feel. Oh, sure, the stockboys hate me but if it means I won’t fall prey to the store’s attempt to make me notice shit I don’t need, I figure I’m ahead of the game. ---

My neighbors put up a picture on their bathroom wall. Of course, I don’t have to go to their apartment or their bathroom or look at the wall, but just knowing about it ticks me off. ---

I thought I was quite clear in saying I have no problem with allowing people the option to have avatars. In fact if the poll you started is public, you will see I chose that option when I voted. I even went as far to say in the OP that it wouldnt impact my posting experience. (Right at the end, guess it really was TLDR) I just think the desire to have kooky pictures is strange. Its amusing to me. I am amused. ---
