We could always create [ASCII](http://www.glassgiant.com/ascii/ascii.php?sample=mona)avatars. They are plain text so it would ensure that the intelligent discourse normally found around here wouldn’t be disrupted. That should appease the text-based purists and the 300 baud modem crowd. You have to walk before you can run.
