avi to dvd conversion

:smack: Yes. My head has been so far up my butt lately, I’m winking at my small intestine.

Not being able to have periods (.) or hyphens (-) in the filename or path is a very weird restriction, and an easy one to fix (move the file before converting). I suspect the program is not being actively developed.

This is probably a problem for me, as my file name has periods in it. Before testing this, though, I downloaded DVDflick, and that seemed to do the trick… But I downloaded almost all of the suggested programs, and will be going back to a couple of them to see if I can get them to work.

The user interface on DVDflick could be better. There were a couple of programs with excellent user interfaces, and the recommended free studio seems to have great potential for any conversion I could possibly need, however this one didn’t work either for me. I have no idea why.

So, thank you all for the great suggestions. DVDflick isn’t bad, so I;ll keep that one around. When I get some time, I’ll be deleting most of the other programs when time permits. For a couple of the programs that looked promising, I’ll re-try when I can. I’ll make sure to rename the avi file to something more friendly.

Cheers
