# Avoiding duplicate posts

My message boards have a nice little message that comes up if you try to post the same message twice, which means no duplicate posts:

"You have already posted a message to this discussion which:

```
 Was posted within the last two minutes
 Was posted by you
 Was the same as the message you entered before

```

You probably hit the button twice.

Click here to continue."

Any chance of implementing this gem here? Im using UBB board-free.

So, what you’re saying, **handy** , is that you want the already-overtaxed server to do something else for you which you could do more easily and reliably yourself. Sounds like a plan.

There’s already a one-minute “stutter guard”, if I’m not mistaken.

And I believe there was also a thread saying that exact duplicates were ignored, even after a minute.

Hmm… I suppose now I’ll have to try it.  
Bear with me one minute.

Yes, I just posted the prior message twice, and the second was automatically ignored.  
Ergo, your request is moot.
