Unfortunately dumping them on shelters doesn’t always work out, either. Once we had a dozen left on our front porch in the winter, some stuffed two to a carrier, and many were already sick before they were dumped so barely survived the cold before we arrived at 7am for work. One was dead and another died while we were trying to save it, and two others were still too sick after a few days and had to be euthanized. I suppose overall it was still nicer than wherever they had been before, but that’s such a shitty thing to do to them and to us. People are disgusting in so many ways. ---

What happened to “please Boss can you confirm this is correct?”? I’m thinking it may be one of those horrible trends in corporatespeak. ---

For your information, I’m not retarded or developmentally delayed. (I was, in fact, rather precocious as a child - not to brag about it, just to tell you.) I think you need a certain amount of intelligence just to keep up with this message board, and I try to do that. I did graduate from university, and I don’t think “retarded” people do that all that often. (Nor “vapid” people, come to think of it.) That having been said, I do struggle with mental illness, which I don’t always talk about here on the message board, but that may or may not be evident from my posts. Now, please do not make the mistake that mentally ill people are all “retarded” or unintelligent, because we’re not. That’s just unfair stereotyping, and besides, is just a stupid thing to say _and_ shows a lack of understanding (not to mention a lack of compassion.) I’m going through a lot in my life now. My parents are getting divorced. I may be out of a job in a few months. I have anxiety with makes it difficult for me just to deal with everyday life. What I really don’t need is people insulting me like you did, **keturah** , on top of everything else that’s going wrong with my life. I don’t see my rants (or other posts) as being boring. I’m sorry that you do, **keturah**. If you don’t like my posts, perhaps you can just not read them, or if they really bother you with their inanity, perhaps you can put me on “ignore.” I’ve put people on “ignore” before. It can help to save one’s sanity. It was suggested that I just ignore insults to me in the Pit, but this has been bugging me too much to leave it alone. I’m not sure if **keturah** or anyone else will actually read this entire essay, but here it is anyway. ---

August: I’m applying to jobs like a Motherfuck. One in twenty might grant me an interview and those seem like they were using it just as a break to get away from their desks. I have skills, I bring value, and I make the workplace fun. Also I have a lot of experience that directly relates to that job. I’m also a very motivated employee\*. Q: Why can’t you see me?
