Damn, **LavendarBlue**. Sorry you guys are having such a Monday. ((((Hugs)))) I guess I’ll hold off on bitching about the rain again. But I think I will go ahead and gripe about the effing nasty bugs. I still can’t eradicate the roaches. Today I unplugged my Keurig and wrapped it in plastic after spotting a roach in it. Uuugh! Then I flipped the breakers and took off all the light and outlet faceplates and sprayed in the walls. Incidentally, this is not a job for the faint of heart. ---

I hate migraines. ---

Trying to do grad school in my 30s with a family is the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever done, and I’m about 60% convinced that we’re going to regret that decision forever. If I had any viable alternative, I’d ditch it right now. But without a degree, I’d be back to making minimum wage + 50% for life. ---

She says there are times when she removes her clothing in the garage and then leaves them there, then showers once she’s in the house. (No, she doesn’t run to the house naked, she brings extra clothing when she knows she’s going somewhere questionable.) I try not to ask too many questions or get too many stories about it. Of course, I work two blocks from [this building](http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/MN-Minneapolis-River-Gate-Apartments.html). Note the picture was uploaded in June 2010 and hasn’t been changed since. On one side is a luxury condo building where 1br’s start about $350k. Across the street is an apartment building where they start at $1200/month. Then there’s this hole in the middle. ---

Goddamn it, I hates flies! I hates them to pieces! Came home yesterday. Big slow moving flies in my apartment. The kind who just kinda wander around the edges and you don’t see them until they suddenly fly in your face going “Help! I’m a Fly! KILL ME!!!” Had to be coming in around the edges of the screens in either my bedroom or the deck. (Saw several on the outside of the bedroom window screen.) I killed 8 of them by the time I went to bed. Sliding glass door open (screen closed) when I went to work today, closed up when I got home because it was 87 degrees. Have killed 4 so far tonight. Thankfully will remain closed up tomorrow as the high will be 93. On the more positive side, I bought a new vacuum which works great, to replace my old hand-me-down which finally broke; I bought a cast iron skillet and threw out a 27 year old ‘non-stick’ pan that wasn’t non-stick anymore; and bought some new sheets for my bed so I don’t have to use the old mix-and-match set anymore. Feels good to be able to replace old and/or half-assed stuff with real stuff that isn’t the cheapest model possible. I think next month I’m doing to work on silverware and pots and pans. ---

Fine. I’ll bitch about the rain now. Red Cross just opened a shelter for flood victims. Students are just now back for fall semester, and a bunch have now been flooded out of apartments. Hundreds of cars under water. The rain started around 5, and by six, major roads wee rivers, parking lots were ponds, police had closed one of the two major US highways through town. There’s just nowhere else for the water to go! ---

**Keturah** , if you don’t like my posts, I’d strongly suggest you do the following: Log in and go to User CP in the top left-hand corner of the board. Click on User CP. You’ll get a menu on the left side of the screen. In the menu, there is a thing that says “Edit Ignore List.” Click on it. You’ll get a box saying “Add a member to your list.” Type EmilyG into that box and click the “okay” button. Bam! Problem solved! You won’t have to see my inane, trivial, boring, stupid posts ever again! I wonder if you find anyone else’s posts stupid or boring, or just specifically mine. And no, I don’t go around looking for things to post here. I just find it a good way to vent. Well, good as long as nobody bothers you and fucking kicks you while you’re down. * * * And yes, I do admit that the toilet paper rant was stupid. But I have much bigger problems. I can rant about those if you wish. Like the way my father’s mental health is in danger of deteriorating because my severely mentally-ill mother is dragging everyone else in the family down with her. I work with a bunch of ladies who can’t be bothered to learn how to change the toilet paper on a commercial metal toilet paper holder (it’s not the locking kind…it just has a hidden clip that secures the roll). The result is stacks of partially-used rolls of TP on the shelf, or on top of the holders. Some of them end up on the floor (eww). ---
