Well, I don’t have room for another appliance so being able to use an ordinary pot for my rice and oatmeal saves space. I also don’t have a dishwasher so my pots are all cleaned by hand (so no black spots…I’m a tad OCD). Don’t know what to say about possibly leaving the pot on the stove. I’m sure we’ve all done it, and there’s nothing worse than burnt rice except perhaps burnt roux. Without much storage space, I try to keep my appliances to a minimum. To each his own.🙂 ---

Dude that sucks! I love my rice cooker ( a zoji) cause you don’t have to peel rice 🙂 But then again, When my son left for college, I bought him a rice cooker that steams veggies at teh same time, and have coveted it ever since.
