Well pretty much! A co-worker got me hooked on this board and now I don’t do my job anymore! So they’re “letting me go!” BUT I DON’T blame the SDMB! 🙂 It’s not the Mods fault that this message board is addictive! In fact, I applaud SD for sustaining such an incredible site! I hated my job and was gald to be going! Thanks SDMB! ---

I have the quickest alt-tab hands in the west. The problem with that, of course, is sometimes my previous window is also not very work-related. It’s even more embarrassing to alt-tab out of the SDMB, only to pop up my fantasy football scores, with executive staff peering over my shoulder… ---

i used to try to pretend i was working, but now i just read and type away! (kinda slow around here!) the other day, i asked my boss if he had a project i could be working on and he tells me, “nah, go check out the straight dope and see whats new!” i got laid off at my last job, i used to think it was the shit, and was devastated! now i work here and its twice as good! life is excellant! ---

Not having a computer at work, I’m in no danger of losing my job because of the SDMB. However, the other day I was so busy thinking about an idea I had for a thread that I almost drilled a hole through my thumb. I’m pretty sure this board may yet cost me a digit. ---

This is why I’m reluctantly glad that I **don’t** have internet access at work. There I would be, up to my waist in the Straight Dope, drinking it by the gallon, rubbing it all over my face in such a state of distracted bliss that I would completely forget about the stuff they pay me for.
