Man, I love that part. I’d give you the time but YouTube isn’t working for me at the moment. ---

The parts in Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good” where the background vocals sing “Everybody say Ohhhh yeah, heeeee’s cool” is such a perfect garnish to the subject matter. Years later, Human League’s “Fascination”: the bass baritone “Hey hey hey heeeeeyyyy” that answers the opening lyric. Same kind of pick-me-up that makes you sing along. ---

In Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” when she echoes the lyrics “I will be waiting” during the last chorus. The third verse of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” is incredible. There’s so much desperation and rage in his voice: “Success is my only motherfuckin’ option, failure’s not. Mom, I love you, but this trailer’s got to go, I cannot grow old in Salem’s lot.” ---
