What kind of helicopter is that in #38? An unusual viewpoint, from almost directly underneath. It even seems possible the at the moment of the picture, one craft was flying directly above another, both above the camera, because I’ve never seen anything like it.

Interesting site. I spent some time looking around on it. The photos of American troops in the Vietnam war have this unmistakable look to them…the thing that really jumps out at me is how incredibly skinny everyone seems. Working out is so ubiquitous now compared to the 1960s. And I’m sure there must be a lot more weight training in the Marine Corps today, and they probably get more food too.

Most of those were brand new to me and certainly fascinating to page through. Thanks much for finding that and making it available. I’m gonna share with some people who will benefit from seeing them.

> Picketing signs were so much more official looking back then. They all look professionally printed and everything.

They were probably the (possibly volunteer) work of professional [signpainters](https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Sign_painting).

> Does anyone know what kind of cameras and lenses were used to take those pictures? (Obviously there were different kinds.) What did news photographers in Vietnam generally carry with them?

Most professional photographers prefer Nikons and Leicas, usually 35mm, though of course now everything’s gone digital.
