At rest. The working tools of life have dropped from her hands. All the cares and worries. She has gained rest, and I hope, reward. ---

My mother died in March after about a week on life support (and fifteen years of painful, debilitating treatments for her illness, and a bone marrow transplant in July 2006); I was in the room with her at the end. And so I’ve looked at this thread, not posted; looked at it, not posted; etc. I was deeply saddened by the news, but it was just too raw for me to handle. “At rest” is the only phrase I can think of that could bring any solace. No matter how desperately we may want her back again, at least she’s not in any more goddamned pain. Flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, **Ayesha**. (And **Paul in Saudi** , your post was beautifully phrased.) ---

I remember seeing posts by **Ayesha** that mentioned **LIONsob** , and thinking that they must have been one of those couples who were just meant for each other. The love was absolutely palpable.
