I’ll admit I’m a little tardy with this. I wasn’t posting from the labour room, like some, but 11 days late, I would like to announce the safe arrival of our wee son, Sam. The story that started on [1st July last year](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=523270), concluded on the 3rd April, 10 days overdue! Induction was started at 4pm on Friday, and rapidly progressed - fully dilated by midnight, with Sam arriving, with a little assistance, at 03.04am. The whole thing was surreal. I’m currently still in a bit of new parent shock, but things are going well, all things considered. I’ll try to post a photo soon, if I can figure how to do it with one hand… ---

Very sweet! Enjoy the adventure you’ll share! This must be the baby season - while my husband was hospitalized this weekend, I spent most of the time with him, but on the very rare occasions when I ventured out, I encountered FOUR sets of new parents loading their tiny bundles into their cars. Considering what a small hospital our county has, it seemed rather amazing! Maybe it’s something in the water?? 😃 ---

I’m predicting a bumper crop in the last 3 months of this year. ---

Congratulations, he’s beautiful! It’s definitely baby season in the Dope - is this the 3rd or 4th Doper baby since the beginning of March? There are at least three more Dopers due in the August/September timeframe, and at least one more due before that though I can’t remember when. ---
