So our boy Bob made the mature decision. I was a little surprised – but about halfway through the first hour, I thought, “You know, they’re really making it look like it’s going to be Kelly Jo, so I bet it’s going to be Estella.”

And sure 'nuff, it was Estella. I think she was a better choice – and I liked that he didn’t propose, but asked her to wear the ring on her right hand. Damn, was she happy!

Poor Kelly Jo, she was so sure she was the one.

BTW, I was on the phone during her visit to Bob’s family – how did that go? Did his mom like her as much as she like Estella?

**twickster** , after Kelli Jo’s visit, Bob’s mom commented that she wished Kelli Jo had tried to get to know her in the way that Estella had. That was as close as she came to expressing a preference. All the men in Bob’s family loved her, though.

I felt exactly the same way about the editing–the more KJ said how confident she felt that she would be chosen, the more I knew she wouldn’t be.

I think that Bob couldn’t have gone wrong with either choice. I also think that six months from now, Kelly Jo will be glad she didn’t get picked and, had things worked out differently, six months from now Estella would have been glad if _she_ hadn’t been picked. Not that Estella and Bob might not be happy together, but he just hasn’t brought anything to the table that would justify the depth of feeling Estella (and Kelly Jo and Mary) demonstrated – I think all three of those women were caught up in the wonder of it.

Anyone see the “After the last rose” special last night? How did that go?

You force me to admit – yes, I watched that rather than “Survivor.” Sigh. Please keep any “get a life” recommendations to yourself.

It was good – Estella and Bob were kind of pre-programmed (they both made the exact same “when Bob touched Estella’s breast, er, chest on first meeting” joke – Bob’s delivery was more natural), and both agreed they’re looking forward to being able to go out, like to a movie. As **Cliffy** observed, they may or may not be together in six months. If not, I don’t think either will be unduly traumatized by the breakup.

They brought on Kelly Jo, whose hair is definitely darker now. She was a trifle grim about the mouth, but claimed with some slight plausibility that she’s getting over it and hopes to move on with her life. She said that Bob didn’t lead her on, she led herself on – which I think has an element of truth to it, because (to, again, “ditto” **Cliffy** ) he was definitely playing his cards pretty close to his breast-er-chest. Chris first interviewed her backstage, then brought her out for a few minutes with Bob and Estella. Chris said, “Yes, I realize you’re moving on and don’t hate these people – but won’t you please get into a catfight with Estella or say horrible things about Bob, please? Think of the ratings!” (Okay, I’m paraphrasing.) She rose above his blandishments.

The last 15 or 20 minutes was devoted to the upcoming nuptials of _The Bachelor_’s only success story, attention-whore Trista and the extremely whipped Ryan. What a horrifying display that whole series (starting next Wednesday in the “Bachelor” time slot) will be, leading up to the intimate gathering of family, friends, and (ABC hopes) a few million viewers that will be the sacralization of their relationship. Heh. I am so there for that.

Thanks. I meant to catch that one, but I ended up sleeping instead. Don’t worry about any “get a life” jokes. Bob really played this show for all it was worth. Higly entertaining. It’s like one huge episode of Elimi-date. I’m pretty sure he was undecided until he asked his mother which one _she_ wanted. She made it clear that she liked Estella better. In the end, even though he behaved like a top-notch player throughout, he was just a big mama’s boy. When they were doing the “don’t be afraid to be loved” intervention, I could tell that the person whose opinion really mattered was his mother. If she had preferred Kelly Jo I’ll bet he would have chosen her. She certainly had the better body.

I don’t think I can take “Ryan & Trista’s Wedding”. All the playing is over, and now it’s just the tender trap dropping. No fun - unless they fight so much that they break up and people’s emotions get crushed. _That_ would be entertaining. But watching petty bickering about minor wedding details until the ring gets placed firmly around the neck of Ryan doesn’t sound like any fun . . .
