[Here’s the latest on Bachmann.](http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-bachmann-attacks-20110712,0,6737611.story)
“ABC News reported Monday that a controversial clinic run by Bachmann’s husband, Marcus, and owned by the couple has suggested in counseling that prayer could help switch a patient’s sexual orientation.”

She prays to a fictional asshole, doesn’t even know what her religion means, doesn’t know the constitution. Yeah, great candidate. If you’re this fucked up by religion, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote, period. This woman is a joke, she is not qualified to be in any office of any kind.

Curing gays is about creating jobs!!! Why can’t you people understand that?

That’s a weak argument, since until 2008 a similar one could have been made about not backing Obama because a non-white candidate had never been elected president.

The reasons why it’s a waste of time to back either Palin or Bachmann have been adequately laid out, ad infinitum, so it’s useless to continue attempting to convince the usual suspects. However, it’s good to continue to do so for the benefit of any lurkers.

Bachmann believes that Americorps is a program of [reeducation camps](http://minnesotaindependent.com/31237/bachmann-reedcuation-camps) for American youth.

She stated that the census was unconstitutional, and that the information was being gathered for nefarious uses such as identifying people to be placed into [internment camps.](http://minnesotaindependent.com/37810/bachmann-links-census-to-japanese-internment)

She stated on Sean Hannity that gay marriage (not terrorism, not war, not economic issues) is the biggest threat to America.

She claims to have never benefited from federal aid, in contradiction to her [financial disclosure forms](http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jun/27/nation/la-na-michele-bachmann-20110627)

Now, these may be “personal attacks” on her, irrelevant from her actual political agenda. But the first three, to me, indicate a pretty non-consensual-reality-based belief system, the last goes to her personal integrity, and her political agenda in general is extreme.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - she can hold it together for a while, but eventually, the batshit is going to spill over in public, and if the Republicans actually nominate her, they’ll have wasted any opportunity at all to defeat Obama in 2012.

I also like LZ Granderson’s [opinion piece.](http://www.cnn.com/2011/OPINION/07/12/granderson.bachman/index.html?hpt=hp_t2)

"But when you refer to the Obama administration as a “gangster government,” and a year or so later sign a document that suggested black Americans were better off when they were slaves; and contend that the forefathers worked tirelessly to end slavery – despite that they owned and sometimes slept with slaves – I no longer characterize those moments as gaffes.

I call them revealing."

It’s as weak as “A president with blah blah has never been reelected so it doesn’t matter who the GOPtards nominate”. Which I’m pretty sure was **gonzo** ’s point.

Bachmann has stated that a wife should submit to her husband, as for example when he told her to go into tax law, and she did.
Has she explained how we would not actually be electing her husband if she feels required to submit to what he feels is best? Would she need his permission to make presidential decisions?

Adovcates shooting folks who are taking census?? Dude! And you think WE are gullible!!

Since you brough up the Muslim thing, answer 2 questions, please.

1. Would any honest follower of Jesus pray to Allah? Didn’t Obama do that in Egypt? A Christian praying to Allah would be a traitor to his faith.

2. Do you think a Christian could get into a Mosque in Egypt to pray at all?

Okay, a third question. Would a Christian bow to the king of Saudi Arabia? I think not!

You need me here. This boat is listing dangerously to port.😃

This vitriol is all too typical of the Left. You refer to The Almighty in terms that would bring dishonor to a whorehouse!

Why don’t you educate us as to what the Constitution really says? This could be interesting.

Religious people shouldn’t be allowed to vote? What is that in the Preamble of the Constitution? Y’know that part about the Creator giving “inalienable rights”? I bet you would be really ticked off if I said that those on welfare for more than 12 months shouldn’t be allowed to vote.:smack:

Yes, of course, all of them do. What, do you think real Christians pray to the devil or something instead?

I don’t see why not. I’ve been in mosques, and the imam who showed us around didn’t have any problem at all with it. Doubtless there are some mosques that don’t welcome visitors, but those obviously weren’t the ones Obama visited.

> [@](#):

Any reason why he wouldn’t? A bow is a signal of respect, not of allegiance. Now, if he had knelt to the king or something, I can see that would be problematic, but he didn’t.

I’m not left, but I can lean in many positions! 😃

What I meant by her not understanding the constitution is the equal rights it promises. She feels gay people HAVE to be straight due to her religion. This is unconstitutional because she side steps the equal rights part and we have NO national religion.

She screams-- SCREAMS for help because two gay women want to have a conversation with her. She wants a christian country without gays, no environmental protection agency to keep the water clean, etc. She claims that SSM is the biggest issue in our nation. Why? Well, because her loving god will send more tornadoes through the bible belt. She’s a batshit crazy bible thumper who is not qualified to run or vote IMO simply because she carries a deluded religion on her shoulder. I wish she would point out a bible verse that says women are equal to men and should be in charge of nations. She worships a fictitious asshole, making her a very real asshole.

If you really want a bible thumper, there’s plenty of places to move to (like Afghanistan) where there are no equal rights and plenty of religion used to practice against gays, women, etc.

You do know that Allah is the word for God in Arabic, right? Like saying Dieu in French or Gott in German? Any Arabic speaker would use the word Allah. And before you ask, yes, there are many Christians who speak Arabic natively.

> [@](#):

> 1. Do you think a Christian could get into a Mosque in Egypt to pray at all?

Sure. Here’s a [tour group](http://www.touregypt.net/egypt-info/featurestories-mosques.htm)that will help set you up. You can’t tour any mosque in Egypt, but there’s plenty of ones that are considered architectural wonders. It’s no different than a Muslim with an interest in architecture visiting Notre Dame or one with an interest in art visiting the Sistine Chapel.

He’s a head of state, not the Muslim pope. And in case you didn’t know a member of the Saudi royal family, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, happens to be the largest shareholder of News Corp outside Murdoch and his immediate family. News Corp is the parent company of Fox News.

It’s a matter of historical fact that Muslims and Christians are referring to the same deity, Whom the Jews also pray to.

I’m an atheist, so it’s no skin off mine, but describing a prayer to Allah as traitorous seems pretty dishonoring to the Almighty, as does being ignorant of your religion’s origins.

Until 2 1/2 years ago, a black had never been elected president.

And like I said, guy, I don’t back Palin or Bachmann. I could probably live with Bachmann if it were a choice between her and Obama. I’d rather have Perry, who has a record of success and unlike him, has actually run something first.

It counters RECOVERINGS endless mantra that Obama can not get re-elected with an unemployment rate over 9. There have been a couple presidents get back in with bad unemployment numbers. But he defends Bachmann. But a woman has never been elected. therefore it can not happen
It is a bad argument. But it is a bad equivalent to The unemployment one that drones on and on from RECOVERING.
