Huh. Never drivin a CVT. But even in an auto, you wait a second for things to get engaged. Is that similar?
Similar but takes a lot longer.
I had a Prius that also had a CVT. For that one the vehicle was required to be at a complete stop prior to shifting into drive. If you didn’t come to a complete stop it would disengage the transmission and give a giant warning. To clear it the vehicle had to be put in “park” and would take a couple seconds to re-engage the transmission, then you could put it into drive.
I have more complaints about CVTs but it would probably need its own thread.
I have not noticed that issue with my Subaru Forester. Maybe it doesn’t have CVT.
Back-in Parker was my least favorite Twain character.
IIRC there was a porn actor nicknamed “Back-Door Parker”. Almost the same idea.
