The triangular design on the back reminds me of a Sierpinski triangle – A triangle with a triangle in the center removed, and where each remaining triangle has a triangle in the center removed, and where each of those triangles formed has a triangle in the center removed, ad infinitum (literally). The same thing can be done with a square or cube (a Menger sponge).
