Great pics, thanks for posting! The first one of the solar eclipse is exceptionally beautiful and also interesting. The camera must have been at a wide aperture for greater sensitivity because many stars are visible. I believe they were relatively close to the moon when this was taken, so the immense size of the sun’s corona is evident. It extends 10-20 solar radii (around 7-14 million km) from the photosphere. Also interesting is that a small edge of the left side of the moon is faintly illuminated, presumably by the bright corona.
If you zoom into the full-size image, small white dots (and at least one red dot) are visible on the dark surface of the moon. The red dot is at about the 10 o’clock position close to the illuminated portion. I initially thought they might be camera sensor defects, but they’re not all the same brightness. It’s hard to tell if there are any in the rest of the picture because of the star images but I think I spotted a few. Any guesses what those bright dots are?
I’m getting " Error: missing query parameters file" again. This tells me your link goes to your temporary search results. It probably depends on a cookie on your computer. It isn’t something you can share.
And here’s a nice video of reentry from inside the capsule posted yesterday by the Canadian Space Agency. Seeing gravity assert itself on Rise, the soft toy, is really cool.
