I have heard that when one puts bacon in a clear carbonated beverage that “worms” will come out. This information came from non-pig-eating people with an agenda, but I’m curious about the phenomenon. Is anyone willing to waste some food in order to observe and possibly explain exactly what happens? ---

i’m not sure but i know pork, ham, etc. has worm eggs in it from the pigs rolling and God knows what else in their manure. the jews were told not to eat this meat because they didn’t know how to properly cook it. in fact, one of the herods died from these worms (as recorded by both the book of acts and josephus’s writings). if i remember right, they get up to like at least 6 feet long and eat on the insides of your intestines. ---

I remember from lab when we were looking at slices of pork under the microscope to check out the cysts and the teacher told us that most pork had worm cysts so that was why it had to be thoroughly cooked. It occured to me then that I had been eating dead worms all my life. OH…MY…GOD! ---

Umm, any cleanly raised animal will provide healthy food; pigs need to keep their skin moist, and will roll in anything damp to cool off. Hence, their bad rep. Pigs will also eat anything; kind of like humans. Strictly vegetarian animals provide the best food. But most farmed animals are fed ‘rendered animal products’, so even natural vegetarians, such as cows, are not as safe as they were, oh, a millenium or two ago. So, what about it, Ringo, my scientist co-poster? ---

I don’t know if it has been proven, but I will not eat even products with gelatin (usually rendered animal protein) in them. And I have given up on beef entirely since MCD was detected in North America. ---
