No, no, no. This is not about bear poop. (Y’all nasty) Went on a sojourn with Ivy. A sad, lonely trip on a sad lonely state highway. Looking for parts for her old organ. (Musical instrument not bodily) There are many creeks here-abouts. Usually named ‘Caney creek’ or ‘Caney creek relief’ Low and behold we came across yet another ‘Bear Creek’ That’s 3 I know of in this area. There’s no way they’re connected. So of course I took a picture of it! ---

Hmmm… since GPS signals come from orbiting satellites, not from ground stations like cellular, the concept of “GPS is curiously not working out there” suggests that you were not actually somewhere in rural Arkansas as you thought, but in the Twilight Zone! 😲 Unless of course by “GPS” you mean geolocating via cellular. But I like my Twilight Zone explanation better. It suits you, and fits in with your haunted bedroom and all your previous psychic experiences. 🙂 ---

Bear Creek kinda runs along and crosses US 65 at one point. But it is a very long creek that is crossed by several roads. ---

I’d suggest that you check on Google Earth to see if Bear Creek crosses and re-crosses the highway, but the big GE has decided that a quarter of the creeks and sloughs in our city are all White Slough. It really annoys me. On the other hand, if you check on GE you could find ten more Bear Creeks in the area. ---

@kenobi_65 Good questions! My memories of Shit Creek were of a watercourse that was verry narrow with steep banks. I would say there was no room for anything that would require a paddle. And said creek meandered quite a bit, I’d venture some lived up the creek, while others lived down the creek. “You think you got troubles? Living down creek on Shit Creek is beyond belief!” ~VOW ---

GPS can tell you where you are geographically, but it can’t find roads that aren’t on its system’s maps. In this case, it may be because no mapmaker has been there. In other cases, new neighborhoods may be newer than the existing maps. ---
