Since we are being anonymous. I should let you know that I was a stunt double for Paul Newman and Robert Redford. They are shorter than me but we made it work. Truth is at 62 yo, I’m starting to look like Deputy Dog. Gravity is a harsh mistress. But the good thing is at 62, I don’t care. That’s a wonderful bonus about getting older. Doesn’t matter and certainly doesn’t define me. All we can do is our best. ---

On the Dope, hot or not, we are all reduced to pixelated words on a screen. We are valued for the content of our brains (or not.) I think that’s one reason I find this place so compelling as opposed to Facebook or other social media. There’s no curated image to be generated here. We’re just here to talk. It sounds like your accident really did a number on your self-esteem. I can understand why. And I’m not saying you’re wrong about people staring at you, but there have been studies in which people were made to believe they had a distracting prosthetic scar on their face, even though they didn’t, and the participants interpreted all kinds of negative social attention due to their scars, even though in reality they appeared perfectly normal. I’m glad you finally found the ability to share and talk about this. You matter. ---
