Exactly x 2. I include the grandwrex, at the moment. They are growing up. Son-of-a-wreks oldest daughter is an adult in a small body, tho’. She takes no prisoners. If I say something about how I look she harumphs and says: “Look at my sister/cousins/Dad’s face. They still go out in public!” ---

**Beck** - My mother was in a car accident when she she just over 20. Thrown through the windshield and through a wire farm fence, she lay in the field for hours because the emergency folks didn’t know she was in the car. It wasn’t until one of the other passengers asked how she was doing that they came out and found her with two crushed legs, her face bashed in (all teeth knocked out), one foot partially amputated. She had to decide in the emergency room as they were about to re-attach her foot whether she’d wear flats or high heels every day for the rest of her life, so they could bolt it at the angle she wanted. The doctors thought she wouldn’t walk again. In the hospital, my dad came up with a group of friends to visit her. They were both semi-engaged to other people. He kept visiting and after she got out they dumped their SO’s and married. 7 kids, 3 different cancers, and all the travails life throws at them, and they were still in love when my father died of cancer. Your life is what you make it. You’ve made it a loving, warm life with family both born to you and chosen, who love you. Pets whose lives revolve around you. For those outside your chosen circle, who really gives a flip what they think? Giving them space in your mind is allowing them to live there rent free. Evict them. StG ---

**Dung Beetle** - It was the 1950’s. She was tempted to do heels, but wisely chose flats. But she didn’t have enough bend to wear anything higher than a loafer. She couldn’t even put on a pair of ice skates. Oh, and the orthopedic surgeon who fixed her legs never charged her a dime for all the multiple surgeries he did. Seeing her walk was compensation enough, he said. She went back to teaching while still in casts and on crutches, fell over on her first day and rebroke both legs! StG ---
