It might have been made into textiles, but may not have reached a consumer. I wonder how much of this is corporate consumption? That I can’t control, but I can control my personal footprint to a certain extent, and I do. I also appreciate the effort the Beckini makers are putting forth. I think we should ban nylon netting. Will that raise the price of seafood consumption? Yep, and lower the damage to our oceans and their contents. ---

I’ve seen a particular closed Childrens store every day for the last 5 or so years. When it was first closing they had bargain shopping, drastic reductions. That finally ended. I’ve watched the left over items in the windows. Everything is still in there. When is it trashed? There’s lots of baby items. It should be donated at least. But, no one listens to me. The voice of reason. ---

Right after 9/11. The Walmart got rid of any thing made in the middle east. They burned most of the bolts of fabric. I begged them to let me have it. I got an assistant manager back there and begged him. What a waste. ---

When I moved here in 2012, there was a junk/variety store up the road that appeared to have been recently closed. Only within the past year has it been cleared out, and there’s now a military recruiting office in its place. ---

I had the same thought, but I guess that means they made a corporate decision to not only not profit from middle east products (I’d love to know how that is defined), but actually take a loss. Stupid, but I guess if I tilt my head somewhat admirable? And they could have taken the same loss by donating them to somewhere instead of destroying them. ---
