Back in November, a local ice cream chain (Bruster’s) opened two stores nearby with a Nathan’s inside (not the full menu, but with the wonderful hot dogs and fries) and I was going 1-2 times a week. Then the closer one closed in June, and the other one closed in August. There’s still a full-service Nathans in the local movie theater, but since they charge movie theater food prices, and 2 dogs, fries and a drink would cost SIXTEEN DOLLARS, I’m not going on principle. Otherwise - yeah, Nathans. And White Castle. Buy 'em by the sack, puke 'em by the roadside. ---

I sometimes wonder if my Dad wasn’t poisoned at a Vegas Jack-in-the Box. He was in great health, and he died 2-3 hours after the meal. ---

No, it was within an hour or two, not two or three, as I recall. It was a very busy place with many shady characters. I’m afraid it was my first and last Jack in the box. ---

I must have a Big Mac about once a year. (I used to have them about 5 times a week, so I’m improving.) No White Castle within a few hundred miles, so a couple of times a year, I get a box of the frozen ones at the grocery. Not quite the same, but close enough. ---

The thread’s about _bad_ food you still want to eat. 😛 For my money it’s Carl’s Jr. Their specialty burgers aren’t bad, but they’re expensive. The Famous Star is relatively cheap, but it’s blech. I’d take a Whopper over it any day. Yet every so often, I forget how blech Famous Stars are and I just have to have one. Used to be I craved Big Macs, but I had to stop eating them about five or six years ago when they’d give me chest pains. I still want one occasionally, but the thought of that chest pain is enough to make the desire go away. ---

McD’s Quarter Pounder with Cheese with Fries and a Large Coke. So terribly fattening, but so, so delicious in it’s own way. If I want a really good burger I don’t think of McD’s. It’s like the QPwC is a whole other food. ---

Houston is a test area for the Mac Snack wrap at McD’s. It’s like the chicken wraps, except it’s like two thirds of a burger patty, cheese, some lettuce, pickles and special sauce wrapped in a tortilla. I actually do not like big macs, b/c they make my stomach hurt like hell. These don’t, yet have the same deliciously disgusting flavor. They are addictive and should be illegal. But you will get mine after you pry it out of my cold dead hand. (I probably died from eating too many of these things.) ---

Once in awhile, I get an urge for a taco bell salad. I think its about 800 calories. I have actually never eaten at a Jack in The Box. ---
