What about a _Sesame Street_ wedding? You could have Elmo as the ringbearer. And Cookie Monster would HAVE to cater. ---

A Monty Python wedding. A “Wizard of Oz” wedding. A Discworld wedding. How about a soap opera wedding? Ah, perhaps not - far too much scope for squabbles, fights, outbreaks of the plague, and aeroplanes falling out of the sky. 🙂 ---

A M_A_S\*H wedding. Have everyone in fatigues or scrubs. Most of the way through the ceremony (officiated by a Mulcahy look-alike) have a helicopter fly overhead and watch the guests scramble to the reception tent while the minister rushed through the end of the ceremony. ---

Kubrick. Honestly. _A Clockwork Orange_ wedding? _Full Metal Jacket_ wedding? _Eyes Wide Shut_ wedding? (I did once have a request to play a song used in _The Shining_ as a first dance, but it was a rather harmless romantic ballad from the 30s, so that doesn’t count.) ---

I didn’t go but saw the pics and immediately wanted brain bleach. :eek: ---

I saw one on some show. I think it was World’s Worst Weddings or something like that. A hunter’s theme. The entire wedding party dressed in camouflage including caps and combat boots. The bride’s cap had a short white veil attached. The wedding was held outside surrounded by woods. After the bride walked down the aisle the bride and groom climbed a ladder to a deer blind where the preacher waited. ---

Has anyone heard of an anime-themed wedding? I’m sure there are people who contemplated it back when Sailor Moon was airing - Tuxedo Mask is pretty obvious, as is Princess Serenity’s gown. Sailor Senshi bridesmaids, on the other hand… er, not so much. Just, for the love of Og, do not, NOT,NOT!! have a Naruto themed wedding. Please. I understand there are some major Narutards out there, but, like the Hello Kitty bridesmaid dress in an earlier post, some things just cross the line. 😛 The above goes for a Bleach-themed wedding as well. I don’t care how cool your wedding party will look in Soul Society robes. Just **don’t**. ---

I vote for a Lord of the Rings theme. That way you could have the “ringbearer” dressed as Frodo. When you exchange the rings you could work in the line about “One ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.” The bride and groom would be Arwen and Aragorn, of course. Bridesmaids as elves, Groomsmen as hobbits. Everybody with appropriate ears. The pastor as Gandalf. There. I’ve just spent more thought on this than it will EVER deserve. ---

Saw pictures of one wedding with a Veggie Tales theme. It wasn’t as bad as you might think. It was a very informal ceremony on the beach, so the veggies were just the balloons that had been picked up that day. I’m sure that someone with a budget and sufficient time could do something ghastly with it.
