There is a hair salon I passed today and this is its name: ``` Goo Gu Bumps ``` The o’s in Goo had eyelashes. Do these words have meanings? I think it is really weird. I would not go to a place with this name, would you? ---

There used to be a salon in Tulsa named “Hit or Miss”. It didn’t inspire confidence in their competance … . ---

I once saw one named _Stumpy’s Scalpatorium & Brain Matter Donation Shoppe_. 'Course, it was in a bad-linguni-inspired dream, but I still sorta saw it. ---

There’s a hair salon around here called “Notorious,” which I guess is a bit better than “Infamous,” or “No, no, not that place!” But only a bit. ---

I don’t know what it is about hair salons having weird, stupid names. There used to be one in Berkeley called “New York, New York For Hair”. What the fuck does that mean? Another one I like a lot is one in our area called “V.I.P. But Hair”. Mrs. Giraffe and I pronounce it “V.I.P. Butt Hair”. Their slogan could be “You’ll be the talk of the executive washroom!” ---

Goo-Gu could be the owner’s last name. Where the bumps figure into it, I do not know. ---

My bank, is merging again… It was Community First. Then, It was changed to Community First Unusual. Yep. An unusual Bank. Wonderful. I didn’t know. But then I saw the new sign. Community First Unusual. Oh yeah, I’m going to put my money in an unusual Bank. I suspect that the marketing folks took a real hit on that one. I’m off to call my “I don’t what to expect plumber”. ---

Weird about the sign from East Cleveland. The Goo Gu Bumps sign is in the Cleveland area, too. On Lee Road near I-480. I hate the name of the 5th/3rd Bank. I think that is just a stupid name. Or in a really big city there might be a Second Baptist Church. That just sounds silly. There was this United Methodist Church near Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. It was called Matthews Memorial. Well, the money never came through. So they finally changed it to University Methodist. Funny! But it has nothing whatsoever to do with Goo Gu Bumps. How do I get off on these tangents? ---

The salon I go to is called Scissor’s Palace. It took me ages to figure out that it’s a pun on Caesar’s Palace. Of course, once I worked it out all the marble and columns that the place is decked out in made a whole lot more sense… ---
