The only chinese restaurant in the small town I used to live in - Chef Ho. And now just down the road from me is Heil Sound. I know Mr. Heil is good at what he does, but I can’t help but salute every time I drive by. ---

A long time ago someone here at SDMB made mention of a gas company in the state of Texas called **El Paso Gas**. I’m still laughing about that one. ---

There’s a beauty parlour close to where I used to live in Bangalore that was presumably named after the proprietor, or someone else called Anu. However, if you want to call your establishment “Anu’s Beauty Parlour”, make very sure that the apostrophe is visible. It wasn’t. ---

There was a place near here for a little while called HarleQueens. I never got around to dropping in to check them out, but I can’t help imagining a guy in parti-coloured drag wearing a cap and bells. ---

I occasionally go by an establishment known, apparently, as “Funk Water Quality”. A local real estate agency goes by the name of “Fox and Roach”. I’ll just take the virtual tour, thanks. ---

Back in the 80’s, there was a swanky high-end chinese restaurant in New York City called Dewey Wong. For years, my favorite such name was a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant that was named Foo King Chinese Food. Then they fixed their sign and it turned out the name was Food King the whole time…oh well. ---

I was going to mention Kum n Go (how did they decide that was better than Git n Go?). I still think they should’ve named their extra large drink The Big Kum Guzzler. Due to it being a family name, I don’t know if there’s any business they could go into that wouldn’t be amusing, but locally, we have a Butts Barbershop. ---

I have a teacup that I took from a Chinese restaurant in New York. I took the cup for the logo. Name of the place is (was) **Empire Szechuan Valley**. Their logo featured huge, red letters **ESG**. ---

[Buy Buy Baby](http://www.buybuybaby.com/default.asp?) First, because the name is just so crass. Yeah, I get that we have to spend a lot of money on our kids. You don’t have to rub our noses in it. But also because it’s currently owned by Bed Bath & Beyond. Wouldn’t it make so much more sense to call your store Baby & Beyond? It’s a symetric name and it perfectly describes what it is that you sell! ---

There’s a daycare here called “ **We’re Little People’s Too**.” Yes, with the double plural on “people” AND the inappropriate apostrophe. I LOL’d when I saw a truck advertising the “ **Master Bait Shop**.” ---
