Yes,you…McDonalds! Yournew “Philly Cheese Steak” sucks! Whatever those shredsofbeef-like substance are, they are NOT steak! And the “cheese”-melted polyethylene is a better description. So, for all of you who contemplate buying a Philly Cheesteak at McD’s-DON’T even thinkof it…you would be better off making one yourself-atleast you MIGHT be eating something that came from a cow! McDonald’s ought tobe sued for fraud. 🆒 ---

I kinda like their cheesesteak. But the ones they serve are more New York style than Philly. But who ever heard of a New York Cheesesteak? Next thing you know, we’ll come up with our own kind of clam chowder. ---

At a McDonalds in the Boston area (where they do some test marketing), they were advertising the McLobster Roll. No, I couldn’t bring myself to order it, despite my morbid curiosity. ---

I have to admit that I love the cheesesteak. Although overpriced for a McDonalds item (something like $3.59 for just the sandwich), I still think it’s yummy and I’m glad it’s lasted this long. And I’m frequently in Philadelphia, ferchrissakes. 😃 ---

:mad: I asked my uncle about what McDonalds uses for “beef” in these sandwiches (he is a retired meatpacking company executive). According to him, it is “reformed” steak! Ugh! Wghat they do: after the cattle carcasse is cut up (and the prime cuts of meat removed) the bones are blasted by high=pressure air jets-this strips off everything from the bones. This dreck is then compacted in a press, with a gelatine binder…then sliced in what ultimately becomes a Mc Donalds cheesesteak. Bleecchh! ---

Second by far to the former “Jim’s Giant Sub” on Pearl St. in Bridgeton, NJ. Poor Jim passed away a few years ago. That man used to hose down subs (aka “hoagies”) with sprayers full of vinegar and oil. Yum. 😛 He passed on, and so did my childhood. :sad: [/hijack] Tripler G’head, someone tell me you remember “Jim’s Giant Sub”, next to “Busnardo’s”. ---

And I’ve never been further north than Arkansas. In regards to the OP: If it’s from McDonald’s, you’re lucky it had something vaguely identifiable as cheese and meat on it. Everything at McDonald’s is just a poorly disguised burger and fries anyway. I think the worst thing they ever offered was McPizza, though.
