BadChad, a moment of your time, if you can spare it

Good, then you must agree with me that it’s irrational to be one, else you would be one. Thanks.

No. You may keep the sig line if you wish, but the rule for sigs is once per thread. Continuing to post your sig just to irk people will result in a formal warning.

Was that a rule or a suggestion? Also I just said I bet it does irk people, I did not say I post it just because it does. So all’s good.

I have no idea what your point is supposed to be here.

No, not at all. But thanks for trying.

Dnftt.

I think he’s asking you to engage in debate.

I’m not debating you, I just made fun of you. You made some comment earlier about “chopping” someone up in a debate, and then you come at me with that stunning one liner. Surely you see the humor? you seem soooo insightful in matters of God, a little jab at your expense wouldn’t fly over you, would it?

A “t” being someone whose attitude or stance you don’t care for, right? Fundies can post here all they like, but an atheist expressing his views of religion gets labelled a troll?

Wow, some people never learn. Check the rules, and I’m issuing you a formal warning since you decided to be oh-so-cute and deliberately act contrary to a moderator’s friendly unofficial warning. I’m afraid I don’t agree with your stated intent, either (since you definitely seem to be jerking chains), but in any case, do not post your sig again in this thread.

On the jerking chains topic, I will be discussing this with the other moderators.

Have a nice day.

Wow, badchad, by ignoring what this moderator just said to you, you showed her who’s the boss here all right.

On preview, she’s not impressed after all.

By the way, there’s a punctuation error in your signature. It jumps at my face everytime I see it, which makes it even more irksome. I spent too much time as a proofreader.

I expressed my POV in both the thread he quoted and in my subsequent one. If he wants to debate, he can react to what I wrote. That’s how debate works around here, you see. One person writes something, and the other person responds.

Regarding how debate works around here, I’m thinkin’ that would occur in GD and not the Pit.

Yes, that’s exactly it.

Isn’t that cross getting a little heavy for you?

I am not sure how you get the idea I am pro-Fundie and anti-Atheist. I am pro-Doubter, and an agnostic. I am a card carrying member of CSICOP. I do have a small hope that there is some osrt of Afterlife. I like some of the Teachings of Jesus, but also Buddha and Hillel, too.

I call him a Troll due to his last Troll post, where he basicly called out fluiddruid. That post has nothing whatsoever to do with his atheist beleifs or his views of religion, it’s **100% ** troll/jerk.

Fine, I’ll post my sig no more in this thread. However I should point out that in your rules it says:

Bolding mine. I highly suggest you change the words “should” to “will be” and “recommended” to “required.” Again this is the Pit so according to the rules I can take issue with you here.

BTW, my sig makes the point that even the most respected of liberal Christians rationalize their beliefs and admit to doing so. It’s irksome only because it’s true.

Thanks, you do the same.

By the way, didn’t I recently [post=7761092]write a post[/post] that applies here too?

What I’m trying to say is that not all Christians consider that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, and that they have to do whatever the Bible says. Some do, but others would dispute this. I take people at face value; if they say they are Christian, I believe it, even if they disagree with some parts of the Bible. badchad is trying to claim that every Christian should consider the Bible inerrant – and be wrong – and that those who don’t are engaged in a game of picking what they agree with and discarding what they don’t agree with. Well, as many liberal Christians here already said, this isn’t true – they often ask God what they should believe in, and they believe He answers them – and in any case, why is it wrong for a Christian to choose to obey only some parts of the Bible? It isn’t, they may do what they want with their religion and it’s not the business of someone who doesn’t even believe in their God to tell them who to practice it.

Ooh, sarcasm! It’s so scary! Lets run away!

Do you approve, smartass, of labelling badchad a troll? Why? What are the troll-like qualities you find? I do not think that word means what what you think it means.

Right. So, again, what is his point?

badchad, you are obligated to follow moderators’ instructions. Even if the written rules are kind of vague, if a moderator tells you that the rules are once per thread and that posting it again will lead to a warning, you obey.
