Attention all BADs: Joe Strummer (of the Clash, ya heathens) is going to be giving a free in-store concert at Amoeba Records on Haight Street on July 28th at 2:00. Sadly, I may be unable to attend, 'cause a thoughtless friend of mine scheduled his wedding for that day. I might show up and leave early, but I thought some of you might like to go. Let me know. ---

Well, I’ve got to be at the wedding at 4:00 (it’s in Alameda), but I’d like to go, if even for a 1/2 hour. Maybe I can bring my tape recorder ans have one of you tape it for me (hopefully security’s not as tight as it was for Shane MacGowan, eh, **Rasa**?). Or at least get an autograph or something. ---

I’ll have to pass for a couple of reasons: 1. When you said Joe Strummer I said “Who?” 2. When you clarified by saying “The Clash” I said “Who?” Have fun, though. ---

BAD’s huh? I thought that was \*\*Mick Jones’ \*\* band? ::chuckle, snort:: (sorry) Seriously, what the hell are “BAD’s”? Personally, I would all but kill to get to see this guy live. Sadly I live in one of those little “fly-over” states that get’s a lot of 80’s reunion metal bands and not much else. I almost flew to Chicago just to see him perform at Tower Records, and the chance to get an autograph or something. The Clash remain my all time favorite band. They _are_ the only band that matters, you know. ---

I decided I was too tired to make the drive. I do like in-stores, though. I went to one featuring John Doe (formerly of X) when he was touring with the John Doe Thing, a band featuring X drummer D.J. Bonebrake and some other dude. Doe played a song that I requested, “The Have-Nots.” Plus, since so few people showed up to the in-store, he took all of our names and put them on the guest list. ---

I was totally planning on attending the show, I had even made plans to handcuff myself to the stage until Strummer himself came out to sign my glutious maximus on behalf of **woodstock** , but somthing happened – I forgot all about it. Oh well, you can’t win 'em all. ---
