Cowgod, SHEEP say, “bah”; you say “moo”. Another giddy day in paradise: 1. The basement sewer outlet was spewing out of the drain for the washing machine again. Took the afternoon off and had RotoRooter grind out the rest of the roots. Had sooo much fun cleaning up the basement–which has a brick floor and no floor drain. Thank heavens for wet vacs. 2. While I was waiting for the Roto Rooter guy, I found the source of the loud nighttime crash that scared the bejaysus out of me. The dog inadvertantly knocked over my Christmas cactus and broke it to smithereens. I bought the silly plant at a grocery store when I was a kid, and I’ve had it for 30 years. And it was just starting to bloom again! Anyway, I got it repotted; hope it survives. Ah, life in the fast lane. And it was cool and poured rain all day. Veb ---

I love mulch. I especially love the free woodchip mulch I get from the town conservation center. I hope I have time to get another trailer load of mulch this weekend. ---

There will be no apricots this summer. The freak snowstorm we got on April Fools Day killed all the blossoms. I’ve only seen two actual fruits on the tree, and they are pitiful stunted green things covered in spots of rust. No whiling away warm late-springtime evenings sitting in the branches of the apricot tree, eating sweet, ripe, nectar-filled apricots still warm from ripening in the sun all day for me this year. Sigh. ---

We had our annual Health Fair at work today. It’s when open enrollment for our various HMO’s come in set up tables, give us free swag, and tell us how wonderful they are compared to the people sitting at the table next to them. I took home several pens, an address book, a teeny weeny sewing kit, a shoe polisher, a band-aid holder, and a little notepad shaped like an apple. Oh, I got a bottle opener too. One of the places had notepaper cubes last year, and I wanted some of them again, but no one had them this year. I was bummed. I like notepaper cubes. Mundane? Quite. No one that works there is ever going to change the HMO they’re with. New people will sign up, yes, but no one’s going to switch. Anyone that’s worked there for more than a year goes to the Health Fair for one reason–to see who can collect the most free ink pens. Hey, I’m a municipal employee. We’ve got to do _something_ with our taxpayer’s money. 😉 ---

My life is wierd. 99% of my diet is Mama Cozzi’s frozen pizzas of some sort. I only drink Mtn Dew. Last night, I stayed up till 2:30. I still couldn’t sleep, so I did push ups, sit ups, and headstands for an hour. I then had a dream that a girl I used to know had a baby, and for some GOD AWFUL reason I had agreed to get an apartment with her and raise it as my own. Oh sweet Jesus, I’m glad that dream is over. It’s VERY windy here.
