With syndication, has _WKRP in Cincinnatti_ ever been _off_ the air?
As for Jan Smithers, I’m surprised her career (as listed at [imdb.com](http://imdb.com)) was so short. Actually, very few of the _WKRP_ actors went on to success after that show’s run. Howard Hesseman (_One Day at a Time_, _Head of the Class_) and Tim Reid (_Simon & Simon_, _Frank’s Place_) did okay, I guess, and Gordon Jump went on to be the 1980s Maytag spokesman, but the rest pretty much disappeared.

Loni Anderson’s new sitcom _The Mullets_ apparently premiered tonight. She did okay after WKRP, what with being married to that really famous guy, and she did have that one season PI show with Lynda “Wonder Woman” Carter, too.
Gary Sandy (Andy the PD) Frank Bonner (Herb Tarleck) and the guy who played Les Nessman whose name escapes me at the moment were the ones who really disappeared. Bonner did some guest shots here and there, but nothing terribly noteworthy.
Didn’t Smithers rather choose to step away from working after WKRP? I seem to recall something about being with her family, or starting a family, or general family noises.

Jan Smithers married James Brolin for a while, then Brolin divorced her to marry Barbra Straisand. ([www.imdb.com](http://www.imdb.com))
It seems to me that she did some guest stuff on TV then quit. Contrary to popular opinion, some people get sick of hollywood and move on, like people do in regualr jobs.
And yes, something happened for Brolin to divorce fine ass Baily Quarters for horse face Barbra.

What the hell is wrong with TVLand? They’ve shown crap like _The Brady Bunch_, _Love Boat_ and _Fantasy Island_ in prime time, but they dump good shows like _WKRP_ and _Square Pegs_ in a late-night slot devoted to so-called “kitsch”?

Gordon Jump, Frank Bonner and Richard Sanders all came back for the New WKRP.
Of course that may be best left forgotten…
This thread has got my mind swimming with such great memories.

Tim Reid would have had a much better career, but it looked (to this observer at least) as though his wife insisted on being given a part in any subsequent show that he was cast into, and carrying her just dragged him down.
