**Unique things about _Calvin & Hobbes_** 1. The snowmen 2. Triumphantly sexist treehouse club: G.R.O.S.S. ( **G** et **R** id **O** f **S** limy Girl **S** ) 3. Stupendous Man, Calvin’s alter ego who is the champion of freedom and liberty 4. Calvinball 5. The cardboard box, which functions either as a Transmogrifier or a Time Machine, depending on how it’s oriented. 6. Calvin’s dad as a veritable font of wisdom whenever Calvin asks a question. 7. Attempts to thwart the will of Rosalyn, the indefatigable babysitter. 8. A rather touching storyline about a dying baby raccoon 9. Spaceman Spiff (another one of Calvin’s alter egos) 10. Tracer Bullet, Calvin’s third alter ego, a film-noir detective 11. Stewed monkey heads for dinner ---

The Telemarketer Speaks, I Respond Probably locked for 20 years or so now, but it was an amazingly skilful takedown of a telemarketer by @Cervaise . He pulled out all the stops, and gave us the now-classic phrase, “I have a butthole too, but that doesn’t mean I want a running jigsaw inserted into it.” Truly, a work of art. ---
