1. _Tuf Voyaging_ by George R.R. Martin

A fun spy novel that was better than most of the Bourne books and made into a decent movie starring Michael Caine.

6. _The Dark Fields_ by Alan Glynn

The novel which inspired the movie _Limitless_. Glynn wrote a prequel, _Receptor_, but it wasn’t nearly as good as either IMHO.

Tolkien started writing an epilogue but it quickly ground to a halt and was abandoned apparently for creative reasons.

A terrific fantasy/alternative history novel about the return of magic to Regency Britain. There’s lots more the author could tell us about the two title characters and what comes next.

11. _Addie Pray_ by Joe David Brown

The book which inspired _Paper Moon_, one of the few movies that’s IMHO as good as the book - and there are plenty of more cons which the lead characters could do.

The last, unfinished book of the Aubrey-Maturin series; I’d love to have seen it finished, and a sequel to it as well

13. The Peshawar Lancers, by S.M. Stirling

I loved that book, and while sequels aren’t always as good, I’d like to have seen Stirling take a chance on this one.

1. Schindler’s List

Given all that has come before, it’s a remarkably satisfying and happy ending, without being at all sappy.

**The Best Movie Ending Ever**

1. Schindler’s List
2. Dark City
3. 2001: A Space Odyssey
4. Gangs of New York

What starts as a great battle between two forces becomes sidetracked by the greater world around them; I guess Monty Python and the Holy Grail ends similarly but not as satisfying.
