In low doses, it’s used as a blood thinner to prevent blood clotting _(and reduce the potential of strokes)_ in people with cardiac issues. I was on it before getting onto Eliquis®. It’s an older medicine, it’s generic, it’s cheap, and it works, although the downside is that it requires constant monitoring of one’s INR via finger pokes, which could lead to frequent adjustments of dosage. Eliquis® and some of the newer drugs do away with the need for constant monitoring. _ **-“BB”-** _ ---
