Favorite things about Thanksgiving

1. Gathering with family
2. Good food
3. Leftovers
4. Gift-giving not required
5. Plenty of TV football
6. Macy’s Parade
7. Empty out the jellied cranberry sauce tin; use it to make a can-full of cranberry-flavored Jello shots … indistinguishable from the real thing!
8. Homemade butternut squash soup
9. Occurs in my birthday week, so usually no school on birthday/
10. Start of the Christmas season
11. This year: _NOT_ gathering with family
12. Pecan pie
