Spoken words you recall from live albums.

1. I was reading in Rolling Stone the other day where they said Detroit audiences are the greatest rock and roll audiences in the world. I said to myself “Shit I’ve known that for 10 years!” Bob Seger - Live Bullet
2. “Does anybody remember LAUGHTER???” - Robert Plant, in the middle of “Stairway to Heaven” on Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same live album
3. “I’d like to do a song I never played in public before, a brand new song, sort of a tribute to the friends of mine, that come out here on the road, and to you too.” – Jackson Browne, The Load Out / Stay, on the Running on Empty album (live cut from an otherwise studio album)
4. “This song doesn’t go something like this, it goes EXACTLY like this” - Steven Wright, “I Still Have A Pony”
5. “Speaking of love, one problem that recurs more and more frequently these days, in books and plays and movies, is the inability of people to communicate with the people they love: husbands and wives who can’t communicate, children who can’t communicate with their parents, and so on. And the characters in these books and plays and so on, and in real life, I might add, spend hours bemoaning the fact that they can’t communicate. I feel that if a person can’t communicate, the very least he can do is to shut up.” Tom Lehrer, after “Alma” on That Was The Year That Was.
6. “You may wonder why we’re sitting down. It’s just to prove that we still can after 20 years in this business” - Devo, some live album.
7. “Mm hmm? Yes? No? Maybe? Well, that’s good, that’s good, don’t strain yourselves.” - Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull’s Bursting Out live album; he was teasing the audience for its tepid, half-hearted applause after he introduced the song “One Brown Mouse.”
8. Phil Rizzuto: “Ok, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker, going here, two down, nobody on, no score, bottom of the ninth, there’s the wind-up and, there it is, a line shot up the middle, look at him go. This boy can really fly!
…
The pitcher glance over, winds up, and it’s bunted, bunted down the third base line, the suicide squeeze in on! Here he comes, squeeze play, it’s gonna be close,
here’s the throw, there’s the play at the plate, holy cow, I think he’s gonna make it!”—Bat Out Of Hell, Paradise by the Dashboard Light
9. “What? What’s that?.. You can’t hear back there? … See? You shoulda bought the $5.50 tickets down in front!” Three Dog Night, _Captured Live at the Forum_
