Real or alleged Hiccup Cures 1. Thumping Chest while counting to Ten in a foreign Language 2. Ten Sips from a Tea Cup 3. Drink from a cup while upside down (preferably without drowning yourself!) 4. Having someone pop a paper bag behind you (or otherwise scare you) when you’re not expecting it. 5. A spoonful of sugar helps the hiccups stop dead. 6. Drink a cup of water while holding your nostrils tightly shut, while a friend does the same with your ears. This works. Seriously.
