The oldest people you remember personally meeting.

1. My next door neighbor (as a child), Chet, born circa 1880.
2. Rose, a friend’s mother, born 1898, aged 99 when I met her in 1997.
3. My mom lived to be 98.
4. All of my grandparents were born around 1880. One of them had a daughter who lived to be 99.
5. Mr. Thompson, a sweet old guy who’d survived the Bataan Death March.
6. My great-grandfather passed away just shy of his 103rd birthday. (1881-1983)
7. My paternal grandmother lived till she was 93.
8. In 1984 I met a man who was then 102. So, born in 1882-ish.

Name any celestial object (planet, star, constellation etc) that you can identify in the sky

1. Mizar and Alcor, the double star in Ursa Major

In a really clear night sky up in the mountains I can see both of them–but in the city they’re just a blur
