In his lifetime, Oswald was just known as Lee Oswald. Nobody used his middle name. But when he assassinated Kennedy, the police identified him by his full name which was standard practice. So millions of people heard him identified as Lee Harvey Oswald. ---

That’s why it persists in the public mind, but the reason police use, and used, the full name under those circumstances is to distinguish that person from others of the same first and last name. Movies you’ve been meaning to see again, but haven’t quite gotten around to. 1. Trading Places 2. Sunset Boulevard 3. Pan’s Labyrinth 4. The Man Who Fell to Earth I saw it many years ago (on VHS to give you a sense of how long ago). I was reminded of it when David Bowie died and thought I should rewatch it but didn’t get around to it. Now I’m reminded of it again with Nicolas Roeg’s death. ---
