Actors pursued for, but not cast in, classic movies 1. Ronald Reagan as Rick in _Casablanca_ 2. Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones in _Raiders of the Lost Ark_ 3. Buddy Ebsen as The Tin Woodsman in _The Wizard of Oz_ 4. Lucille Ball as Scarlett O’Hara in \*Gone with the Wind \* 5. Burt Reynolds as Han Solo in _Star Wars_ 6. Warren Beatty as Jack Horner in _Boogie Nights_ 7. Winona Ryder as Mary Corleone in _The Godfather: Part III_ More than pursued for, she was signed and set to begin shooting when she withdrew due to illness. She may technically be in in violation of “not cast in”, but she never appeared in the movie. After an exhaustive search for a replacement Coppola cast his daughter; the rest is abomination. ---
