Always nice to see Appomattox Court House listed as such; a Civil War Geek nitpick is that it’s often listed as just Appomattox even by scholars who evidently know know App. Court House is the name of the town.

Yes, [_Clutch Cargo_](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clutch_Cargo#Technique), which has been cited as the inspiration for Conan O’Brien’s use of the technique, albeit with photos of such people as Bill Clinton and Bob Dole.

The Alamo is a National Historic Site, so I’ll let it stay:

> **[Alamo Mission](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alamo_Mission_in_San_Antonio)**
>
> The Alamo is a historic Spanish mission and fortress compound founded in the 18th century by Catholic missionaries in what is now San Antonio, Texas, United States. It was the site of the Battle of the Alamo in 1836, a pivotal event of the Texas Revolution in which American folk heroes James Bowie and Davy Crockett were killed. Today it is a museum in the Alamo Plaza Historic District and a part of the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site.

Still a mansion but far more comfortable/less grandiose than the Vanderbilt mansion a short drive away). [Home Of Franklin D Roosevelt National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service)](http://www.nps.gov/hofr/index.htm) The main thing I remember about touring it was that FDR’s bedroom was between his mother’s and Eleanor’s, which has to equal a happy arrangement for everybody.
