Maybe not the first one painted in the style. But the style was named after that painting.

This image doesn’t do the Cleveland Museum of Art’s painting justice, but is the best I could find online. Seen up close, the little girl is simply luminous.

I guess it depends on how you define impressionism. Degas didn’t use the same techniques that other impressionists did. But I think he chose impressionist-style subjects for his paintings.
